Amazon Prime Teases More Clips of ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ Ahead of Release
Ahead of the much-anticipated release of Amazon Prime’s Red, White & Royal Blue, the streaming platform has released two exclusive new clips, as well as interviews from the movie’s main actors, Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine.
What is Red, White & Royal Blue?
The premise of the film, based off a book by the same name written by Casey McQuiston, follows Alex Claremont-Diaz (Zakhar Perez), the first son of the United States under his mother, Ellen (Uma Thurman) as he falls in love with a young Prince Henry (Galitzine).
Of course, due to the high-profile nature of their very public lives, the two must keep their relationship under wraps.
The film has amassed an eagerly awaiting fan base, both from those who are fans of the original novel as well as those who are curious about the R-rating and the amount of nudity in the film.
That said, director Matthew López told PEOPLE, “I think I was a little surprised at the R rating just because, while I never was encouraged to limit what we were showing or limit what I was depicting, the scene is what I intended to show. It plays exactly how I wanted it to play.”
The scene in question is a sex scene between the two leads, of which López also said, “I do question whether or not if it had been a man and a woman, if we’d still gotten an R rating.”
