The first 18 years of my life were spent in the foothills of Yosemite, where my physical body felt confined to the limits of the forest, but my imagination took its time to develop and allow me to think big. My time throughout the Boy Scouts on my journey toward getting Eagle taught me about resilience, challenge, leadership, and the payoff of hard work.

Nowadays, I’ve got my hand dipped in a hundred projects, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I went from writing alone in my bedroom in the woods to contributing to some of the most well-known publications in the world. I’ve been invited on press trips to explore parts of the world I would have never dreamed of attaining in my youth. I’ve even trained Olympic athletes on the mat and helped challenge their growth.
